Deaths of John Bennie and Marion Nichol
John and his wife Marion died within days of each other, both of 'debility from old age.' Marion died first at 11 am on 27 December 1856, as certified by Geo Dallas Baird, the surgeon who saw her the previous day. John died three days laterat 9.40 am on 30 December, again certified by the same surgeon who also saw him on the previous day. Both are buried in the churchyard, Linlithgow.
