Marriage of John Cartwright and Mary Lawton
John and Mary married on Friday, 1 January 1858 at St Mary's Church, Stockport. They were widower and widow and were both of full age, living at Davis Street, Dukinfield. John was a grinder and his father, Thomas, was an overlooker. Mary gave no occupation and her father, James Simpson, was a bookkeeper. John could sign his name, but Mary could not. The witnesses were James Wild and Joshua Brooks.
