Marriage of Joseph Cartwright and Mary Taylor
Joseph and Mary married on Saturday, 11 Feb 1882, at St Peter's Church, Ashton. Joseph was a 21 year old bachelor and lived at Blandford Street, Ashton. He was a spinner and his father, James, was a carder. Mary was a 23 year old spinster and lived at Bennett Street, Ashton. She gave no occupation and her father, Charles, was a coal miner. Joseph could sign his name, but Mary could not. The witnesses were Joseph's sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and James Beard Ramsden.
