Sudden Death at Broadbottom
The people of Broadbottom were shocked to hear, on Tuesday afternoon, of the sudden death of a lady well-known and held in high respect throughout the whole of the district – Miss Hannah Harrop, of Olive Terrace, Broadbottom. The deceased lady, who was evidently troubled with her heart, was in the house alone. She evidently felt an attack coming on, and she knocked at the wall to her neighbours. On their arrival, however, she was in extremis, and died in a few minutes. The deceased lady was 50 years of age.

Interment of Mrs Hannah Harrop
The remains of the late Mrs Hannah Harrop, of Olive Terrace, whose death occurred very suddenly on Tuesday last, recorded in our last issue, took place on Saturday afternoon last at Mottram Cemetery, amid every manifestation of regret. A large number of relatives and friends attended the last sad ceremony which was conducted most impressively by the Rev. H Howson, curate-in-charge of St Mary's, Broadbottom. The rev gentleman also conducted a short service at the house prior to the cortege leaving for the cemetery. There was a large number of beautiful floral tributes.
