Marriage of Deborah Hiland and Henry Hughes
Deborah and Henry married on Sunday, 16 December 1866, at Holy Trinity, Castle Hall, Stalybridge. Deborah was a 21 year old spinster and lived in Stalybridge. She gave no occupation and her father, Thomas, was a hatter. Henry was a 21 year old bachelor and also lived in Stalybridge. He was a collier and no occupation was given for his father, Ellis. Henry could sign his name, but Deborah could not. The witnesses were George Shaw and Ellen Cunliffe.
