Marriage of Martha Hiland and George Marsland
Martha and George married on Sunday, 11 February 1866, at Holy Trinity, Castle Hall, Stalybridge. Martha was a 22 year old spinster and lived in Stalybridge. She gave no occupation and her father, Thomas, was a hatter. George was a 23 year old bachelor and also lived in Stalybridge. He was a self-acting minder and his father, James, was an engineer. George could sign his name, but Martha could not.
