Alma Bridge, Dukinfield

A rather bizarre photograph which seems to be parodying Jospeh SAMPSON and the Alma Bridge toll gate. It was taken in 1902 at the celebrations to mark the ending of the toll collection. Both toll gate and toll booth were later publicly burnt.
