Marriage of Abel Prestwich and Gertrude Bowers
Abel and Gertrude married on Sunday, 15 October 1922, at Stamford Street Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Ashton. Abel was a 22 year old bachelor and lived at 154 Cotton Street, Ashton. He was a labourer at a leather works and his father, Arthur Worsley Prestwich, was a cotton minder. Gertrude was a 25 year old spinster and also lived at 154 Cotton Street. She was a rope doubler and her father, John, was a cotton doubler.
