Marriage of Arthur Worsley PRESTWICH and Sarah CARTWRIGHT

Christ Church, Ashton

Arthur PRESTWICH did not use his middle name, Worsley when he married Sarah CARTWRIGHT on 21 April 1862 at Christ Church, Ashton-under-Lyne.

He was a bachelor of 'full age' and worked in a card room. He lived in Ashton and his father, Joseph, was a hatter. Sarah was a spinster of 'full age', living in Ashton, and her father, John, was also a hatter.

Arthur could sign his name, although not well, it must be said, while Sarah could not write. The witnesses were James CARTWRIGHT and Amelia PRESTWICH and the ceremony was performed by F H WILLIAMS.
