Marriage of James Prestwich and Mary Leech

St Peter's, Ashton

James Prestwich married Mary Leech on Thursday, 22 May 1902, at St Peter's Church, Ashton-under-Lyne.

He was a bachelor aged 32 and worked as a labourer at a cake manufacturer. He lived at 193 Park Street, Ashton and his father, Arthur Worsley Prestwich, was a cardroom hand. Mary was a spinster 30, living at 39 Marlborough Street, Ashton. She was a cotton weaver and her father, Samuel was a fitter.

Both could sign their names. The witnesses were William Leech and A Boardman.
