Marriage of James Ratcliffe and Martha Ridgway
James and Martha married on Sunday, 24 February 1878, at St Stephen's Church in Audenshaw. He was a 21 year old bachelor and was a 20 year old spinster. Both were living in Audenshaw and neither gave their father's name or occupation indicating that they were both illegitimate. James was a moulder and Martha was a weaver. The witnesses were Albert Robinson and Hannah Ridgeway.
