Mr Thomas Goddard RHODES was well known in the village, particularly on the bowling green. We have heard of many kind deeds done by him to his less fortunate fellow in their hour of need. Now we hear of the death of Mrs RHODES, wife of the late Mr Jerry RHODES. For years she had suffered from rheumatism. Though residing in Hadfield, she loved Mottram and Mottram Church. For several years, she was wheeled in a bath chair by her family to the Sunday Sermons. We missed her this year, but she was with us in spirit. She was a member of our Mothers' Union.
