Marriage of Jemima Ridgway and James Davies
Mottram St Michael
Jemima Ridgway married James Davies at St Michael and All Angels, Mottram on 7 April 1872.

Jemima was an 18 year old spinster (although she claimed to be 21) and a weaver living in Newton. Her father, Jonathan, was a collier.

James was a 21 year old bachelor and described herself as a collier. He also lived in Newton and his father, Thomas, was also a collier.

Both Jemima and James could sign their names. They married on the same day as Jemimal's brother, Samuel, married Mary Heywood.
