Marriage Certificate

Thomas SHORROCKS married Emma CALDWELL on 2 October 1867 at Manchester Cathedral. He was a 25 year old bachelor living at Varna Street, Openshaw and worked as a boiler maker, as did his father, John SHORROCKS. Emma was also 25 years old and lived near Thomas at 3 Lees Streeet. Her father John CALDWELL, was a plumber. Both Thomas and Emma could write, as can be seen from the digitised version of their marriage certificate. The witnesses were John STOTT and Mary HOLLINGWORTH.
