More about John Stanley
John took over the Bull's Head in Audenshaw from his father, Thomas, some time after 1862 and by the 1874 Ashton and District Trade Directory, he is listed as Stanley and Bayley Brewery, Denton and the Bull's Head, Audenshaw. He had gone into partnership with his bother-in-law, William and they traded as Sunfield Brewery based on Manchester Road, Denton. This probably vanished as part of the building of the reservoir.
