Thomas Stanley's second marriage was to Elizabeth Wright on 19 July 1837 at Manchester Cathedral. He was a widower of full age and gave his address as 97 Jersey Street, Manchester, which was the Cross Keys pub, pictured today. He was a hatter, as was his father, Edward.

Elizabeth was a spinster of full age, and lived at 95 Jersey Street, Manchester, the daughter of John Wright who was a labourer. The witnesses were Esther and Thomas Wright.
