Freemason’s Death
We regret to announce the death of Mr Jesse Walker of 37 Back Bower Lane, Gee Cross, which occurred at Ashton Infirmary on Friday, following an operation. A native of Hyde, Mr Walker, who was 66 years of age was, up to three years ago, was for thirty-one years, superintendent of the Borough Cemetery. He had since been employed in the Borough Treasurer’s office.

For 22 years. He had been a Freemason, being a member of Fortitude Lodge, Hyde, and was at one time Master of the Lodge, in addition to holding all other honours available. He was charity representative of the Lodge for three years. Mr Walker was connected with Holy Trinity Church. He leaves a wife and a married son and daughter. The funeral was at Holy Trinity Church on Wednesday, the vicar, the Rev J P Richmond, officiating.
