Marriage of John Walker and Mary Kenyon
When John Walker married Mary Kenyon on 17 October 1852 at St Mary's, Stockport, both were described ar being of 'full age'. John was a bachelor and a spinner by occupation and lived at Throstle Bank , Hyde. His father, John, was a twister-in. Mary was a widow and also lived at Throstle Bank, Hyde. It was difficult to read her father's surname, but he was Joseph Grimes or possibly Ormes and he was the manager of a coal works. The witnesses were Jane Walker and George Hargreaves. John could sign his name, but Mary could not.
